Isabelle Plunkett is an immigration attorney whose practice includes federal immigration litigation, family-based immigration, and humanitarian matters. Her federal court work has involved challenges to agency delays and denials, immigration detention, and other issues arising under federal immigration law. She also represents clients in family-based and humanitarian immigration matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Immigration Courts.

Isabelle particularly enjoys the research and writing involved in complex immigration cases, including matters that require close analysis of immigration statutes, regulations, and evolving case law. Isabelle is admitted to practice in Minnesota and before several U.S. District Courts, including the District of Minnesota.

Isabelle began working in immigration law while attending Mitchell Hamline School of Law, starting as an immigration law clerk in 2021. She remained in immigration practice after graduating from law school and becoming a licensed attorney in 2023. During law school, Isabelle participated in a legal clinic focused on immigration and family law and volunteered at the Neighborhood Justice Center, where she gained exposure to criminal law. Before law school, Isabelle graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in political science.

Isabelle was initially drawn to immigration law because of both its complexity and the meaningful role it plays in people’s lives. She values clear, honest communication with her clients and strives to help them feel informed and supported as they navigate the immigration process. She appreciates that every case presents its own legal and practical challenges and approaches her work with care, curiosity, and attention to detail.
